Lead paint help in the Bay Area, with a referral to a licensed pro
Peeling paint, a remodel in an older home, a home sale or a rental to disclose? Tell us what is going on and we will refer you to a contractor who holds an active California contractor license.

Why lead matters in older Bay Area homes
Lead-based paint was banned for housing in 1978, and a good share of Bay Area housing was built before then. Trouble usually starts when old paint chips, peels or crumbles into dust, or when a project in an older house kicks that dust up. Older plumbing can also carry lead into tap water. Health agencies focus most on young children and pregnant women.
Because lead work is construction, California requires a contractor license for most jobs, and the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) lets anyone look a license up online. California's Department of Public Health (CDPH) certifies people who do lead-related construction work. Checking both before you hire is the most useful thing you can do.
We are a referral service. We do not do lead work, we never quote prices or negotiate, and we do not sign anything for you. We refer you to contractors who hold an active California license, and you deal with them directly.
